We are looking for an admin / account’s assistant to assist and support the council’s clerk in the performance of his duties. You will be based in the council’s premises off Wales Road and required to work twenty hours a week over three days, which will be negotiable. You will be required to work alone on two of the days.
Your duties will include the performance of a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including assisting in managing the council’s general administrative activities and accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. The rate of pay is currently £10.74 per hour (£11,169 per year), subject to a pay increase in April. You will be automatically enrolled in a workplace pension scheme.
You should be proficient in using MS Office and MS Excel software, familiar with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures and have experience of handling cash. Ideally, you will also have proven experience as an admin / account’s assistant, be proficient in using Sage Payroll software, have hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports and have experience of dealing with customers / members of the public. You must be able to work on your own initiative.
